Lavendar Cloud Dough

cd3

Recently my mom and daughter made Lavendar Cloud Dough..

Lavendar is one of the most calming scents so this is GREAT to make with a rowdy preschooler!

Depending on your sanity you may just want to let your preschooler play with it because

the process of making it can be messy!

Here is the recipe:
Lavender Cloud Dough Recipe

8 cups of flour
1 cup of vegetable oil
5-7 drops of lavender essential oil
cd2
Optional: 1/2 cup of powdered tempera paint or crushed chalk to color the cloud dough
(we did not!)
Mix all ingredients in a sensory bin or container.  If you desire the cloud dough to be colored you can use powdered tempera paint.  If you don’t have any on hand you can easily make your own using sidewalk chalk. Cloud dough is an amazing sensory material in that it is super soft, fluffy, and mold-able.  It also lasts indefinitely as long as it is stored in an airtight container.

Handling sensory materials like cloud dough is therapeutic and helps relax little ones.  Adding a lavender scent provides another calming attribute.  The aroma of lavender is known to soothe and lull.

When my daughter plays with her Lavendar Cloud Dough I have her play with it one a picnic blanket..
That way you can just go outside and shake the mess off!
